Rural
Electrification Agency (REA) is the secretariat of the Rural Electrification
Board (REB) established by statutory instrument 2001 No. 75. REA is mandated to
implement Government’s rural electrification programs. The Government of Uganda
through REA is implementing a number of electricity connection projects with
financial support from development partners to meet national electricity access
targets.

Job Summary: The
Marketing Technician will support Service Providers with proper installation,
repairs, testing and programming of meters; Collect Monitor, Process, Interpret
and Communicate data on meter readings from all boundary points with Umeme
Limited and isolated grids
Marketing Technician will support Service Providers with proper installation,

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Service providers with proper field installation
of domestic and commercial meters. - Support Service Providers with bench testing and calibration of new
and used meters. - Work with Service Providers to implement routine inspection of all
residential and commercial meters to rule out cases of energy losses. - Actively participate in the commissioning and calibration of
boundary meters Umeme/UETCL. - Collect and manage a data base on all boundary meter data and rate
of meter failures. - Develop and review maintenance plans / work instruction as a support
function to Support service Providers for all boundary and domestic
meters. - Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the
Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Marketing Technician job must hold a Higher
Diploma in Electrical Engineering. - At least five years of technical experience in domestic and energy
metering. - Willing to spend longer periods out of station
