Job Summary: The Internal Auditor will mainly enforce
adherence to existing policies, procedures and practices with a view of
ensuring safety and proper management of UIA resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify the extent to which the
organization operates in compliance with relevant laws and regulations,
policies and procedures. - Carry out adhoc / surprise audits on the
company’s operational activities that bear significant financial impact - Conduct detailed audits of the company’s
financial transactions and statements in order to ensure compliance with
the company’s procedures, and workflow processes - Ensure that any deliberate or fraudulent
abuse of established practices are detected, and appropriate actions are
taken timely - Conduct physical stock checks and verifying
stock figures. - Conduct functional audits in all
divisions - Conduct special investigations as and
when requested by management or the board of directors. - Carry out risk assessments in all
departments (Auditable units) as per the risk management policies. - Verify transactions for appropriateness
and ascertaining that such transactions are budgeted for - Conduct pre-audits of major and/or
selected payments to ensure compliance with financial policies and
procedures - Provide support to the external auditors
with the end of year statutory audit exercises or any other special audit
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda
Investment Authority (UIA) Investment Executive -Media Relations job must
hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, Commerce, BBA
(Accounting option) or a related qualification from a recognised
Institution - Professional Accounting qualification
–CPA, ACCA or a related qualification from a recognised institution - Must be a member of ICPAU or IIA
- A minimum of three years’ work
experience in a similar position preferably in a public Institution or a
reputable private institution or NGO. - Proficiency in computer applications
with working knowledge in accounting packages
