barriers to health and restore wholeness in a hurting world”. MTI-UG has
operations in West Nile and South western Uganda. We provide Comprehensive
Primary Health Care, Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS and Nutrition.
Job Summary:  The Health Coordinator will be tasked with
oversight of primary health care and community health interventions. S/he will
actively participate in program planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting,
and representing MTI at regional and national level. S/he will be responsible
for the technical aspects of MTI’s program in Uganda, supervising and mentoring
Medical Coordinators in collaboration with the Program Manager in each Field
Office.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure MTI adheres to MOH and global health standards through
    collaborations with related health partners.
  • Actively participate in coordination meetings with MoH, UNHCR and
    other partners, contributing technical perspective.
  • Ensure continuous mentorship and capacity development of Medical
    Coordinators in providing technical oversight and reporting all health
    related issues.
  • Participate at all stages of project cycle, providing technical
    inputs at each stage to ensure maximum health impacts.
  • Take lead in health needs and activity assessments required for
    proposal development in the provision of Health and Nutrition services.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of MTI Uganda contingency plans
    for potential epidemics and influx.
  • Ensure that primary health, reproductive health, HIV programs, and
    community interventions are evidence-based and implemented in a
    comprehensive and cost-effective manner.
  • Produce formal and informal reports on all aspects of health
    programming for internal and external use.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a University Degree (Clinical and Masters in
    Public Health)
  • At least five years of related work experience
  • Previous experience in the medical, public health ideally in a
    refugee and/in or infectious disease response context
  • Proven experience in Project Management, Financial Management &
    Budget Monitoring
  • Excellent computer, planning and organization skills
  • Previous experience within an INGO and/or UN agency
  • Creative thinking for rapid solutions.
  • Good communicator with strong negotiation skills.
