Children-Uganda (JFCU) is a non-profit children’s rights organization established
in 2005 to respond to the plight of vulnerable children in Uganda. Dedicated to
working with children, families and communities to end injustice to children.
The organization has its head office in Kampala, field offices in Kabarole
district and another field office to be established in Lango sub region . JFCU
also hosts and coordinates Girls Not Brides Uganda, a National Alliance to End
Child Marriage with over 80 NGOs in the different parts of Uganda to end child
marriage. We are committed to protection of children and the applicants that
have a high track record of child protection will be considered.
Uganda (JFCU) will be implementing a three -year project on mitigating social
risks associated with Gender –Based Violence (GBV) and Violence against
Children (VAC) in the districts of Lira, Oyam, Kole and Dokolo.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Gender Officer must hold a Master’s degree in Gender studies,
Development Studies, Social Sciences, or any other related discipline from
a recognized Institution. Evaluation is an added advantage. - Five years of hands-on experience in gender based programming
- Previous experience in addressing GBV and legal and cultural issues
in Uganda is Mandatory. Previous experience in GBV interventions in
infrastructural projects is an added advantage. - Previous experience in developing IEC materials to mitigate risks of
GBV/VAC - Ability and willingness to work in rural settings is required as
well as some knowledge of the language used in the Lango Cluster
