Job Summary:   The News Anchor-KFM  will mainly link the audience with newsmakers
in order for KFM to gain and increase its credibility by writing and presenting
news bulletins on Radio.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The incumbent takes instructions and briefs from the News Editor on
    stories to be covered and aired
  • Plays some roles of Producer and Reporter
  • Sub-edits stories/translations to ensure that the conform to
    journalistic ethics, editorial objectives a house style
  • Rehearses the bulletins to ensure proper pronunciation of words and
    names of people and places
  • Changes script as necessary to suit house presentatio style without
    distorting meaning or flouting in—house style
  • Presents news bulletins, commentaries and prepares and conducts live
    and or recorded interviews of guests and reporters
  • Touches base with newsmaker, aggrieved parties, opinio leaders to
    give them an opportunity to be heard
  • Researches and scripts for news and interviewers
  • Presents the news by making oneself presentable, audible and uses
    acceptable language and delivery skills
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication from an accredited University
  • Professional Postgraduate Diploma would be an added advantage
  • Two to three years of working experience in Media
  • Experience in a media related industry will be required.
  • Abreast with Current affairs for both local and global happenings
  • Very strong mastery of the English language
  • Very strong communication skills
  • Ability to hold effective interviews
  • High standard of Integrity
  • Ability to follow through issues to closure
  • Good planning and Organization skills
  • Initiative,
  • Eloquent
