Children-Uganda (JFCU) is a non-profit children’s rights organization
established in 2005 to respond to the plight of vulnerable children in Uganda.
Dedicated to working with children, families and communities to end injustice
to children. The organization has its head office in Kampala, field offices in
Kabarole district and another field office to be established in Lango sub
region . JFCU also hosts and coordinates Girls Not Brides Uganda, a National
Alliance to End Child Marriage with over 80 NGOs in the different parts of
Uganda to end child marriage. We are committed to protection of children and
the applicants that have a high track record of child protection will be
considered.
Uganda (JFCU) will be implementing a three -year project on mitigating social
risks associated with Gender –Based Violence (GBV) and Violence against
Children (VAC) in the districts of Lira, Oyam, Kole and Dokolo.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Child Protection Officer must hold a Master’s degree in Social
Work, Gender studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or any other
related discipline from a recognized Institution. Evaluation is an added
advantage. - Five years of hands-on experience in child protection and
programming is a must. - Extensive Knowledge VAC and legal and cultural issues in Uganda is
mandatory - Previous experience in completing VAC interventions in
infrastructural projects is an added advantage. - Ability and willingness to work in rural settings is required.
- Some Knowledge of languages used in the Lango Cluster.
