About US:
The Ministry of
Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) and the Uganda National Bureau of
Standards (UNBS) are under taking the Fuel Marking and Quality Monitoring
Program (FMP) to monitor the importation and trade of Petroleum of products by
preventing adulteration, dilution, contamination and smuggling thereby
safeguarding consumers and the environment in addition to enhancing Uganda’s
National revenue collections. The program is run as a cooperative arrangement
under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was signed by the two
institutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will receive samples and enter them in the system
- Clean and decontaminate where necessary laboratory apparatus and
ensure cleaned (and sterile) glassware is available at all times - The incumbent will also decontaminate and dispose used samples
- Clean equipment
- Maintain good housekeeping of the laboratory
- Provide support in sample preparation
- Assist in proper documentation of laboratory records
- Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to
time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the UNBS Sample Receptionist / Lab Assistant job
opportunity should hold a Diploma in science of Chemistry/physics - At least two years of related working experience in a reputable
organization - The successful candidates should be ready to work from any part of
the Country. - Age: Between 25
and 35 years.
