is owned by the Madhavani Group and it is extracted from cane grown on lush
plantations on the shores of Lake Victoria. The sweet, sparkling crystals with
their distinctive taste and flavour, and rich golden colour, have sweetened
dishes all over Uganda since the 1930s.
- Managing land preparation, planting and upkeep of sugarcane
cultivation and achieving the targeted production within the budgeted
costs. - Overseeing and maintaining the upkeep of sugarcane using appropriate
agronomic applications to ensure quick growth. - Maintaining a constant vigilance for any preventable risks like tire
hazards, cattle grazing or disease infestations to the plantation and take
necessary preventive remedial action. - Monitoring tractor logbooks to maintain their performance, fuel
control and operations. - Preparing, and submitting routine and adhoc reports, statistics and
other relevant information concerning the performance on the estate.
- Applicants should be holders of Bachelor’s Degree in
Agriculture/Agribusiness Management preferably with a postgraduate
qualification in Agronomy, Sugarcane Production, Agricultural Engineering
or Economics. - A minimum of five (5) years in Agriculture on estate, three (3)
years of which should be in Sugarcane cultivation. - Age: 25 years and
above
