About US:
Uganda Electricity
Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is responsible for bulk purchase of
electricity from the generating companies and selling the electricity in bulk
to the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is also responsible for
all exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. UETCL envisions: “To become a
leading strategic business partner in the transmission and Single Buyer
Business and to support sustainable energy development in Uganda.”
Job Summary:  The Senior Public Relations Officer will
assist in management of effective communication to the public and promotion of
positive corporate image and such duties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide support in developing and implementing strategic Public
    Relations programmes to communicate the organization key messages to
    stakeholders and public.
  • Handle the advertising and publicity traffic to attract positive
    coverage of organization activities.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with the media.
  • Assist in the Public Relations response to crisis/ emergency
    situations.
  • Maintain the organization website, intranet and social media to
    publicize and market Company activities and products.
  • Assist in developing and implementing project! community awareness
    and sensitization programs.
  • Create, deliver, and optimize PR written materials and carry out any
    other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s (Hons) Degree in Mass
    Communication. A Master’s Degree in Mass Communication shall be added
    advantage.
  • Five years of professional working experience in corporate
    communications
  • In-depth knowledge of Corporate Communication strategies.
  • Must have good knowledge of General issues.
  • Must have analytical and very good communication skills. ‘
  • Must have IT User Skills.
  • Must have very good supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent report writing skills.
  • Must have very good Listening and Reading skills.
  • A person of high integrity is motivated, innovative, result oriented
    and a committed team player.
