are a subsidiary of the Nation Media Group, which is East & Central
Africa’s largest multi-media group.
Job Summary: The
Producer Spark Programs & “Mwasuzemutya” will conceptualize, plan for and
produce TV programs that educate, inform, entertain and earn revenue for Africa
Broadcasting Uganda Limited and the Group. Attract the largest numbers of
viewers and make NTV & SPARK the preferred TV stations. The jobholder needs
to understand the core audience and anticipate viewer expectations by
proactively engaging in research. He/she will primarily be responsible for
coming up with auditory and imagery ideas and work closely with a team of
technical and production staff to come up with the final program footage in any
given production. He/she is expected to produce polished, professional, error
free content with high production values at a fast pace.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Conceptualize story ideas, generate scripts and produce assigned
    programs
  • Produce talk shows and other live shows taking into consideration the client’s brief
  • Conceptualizes program ideas and comes up with a story board and script for
    internal / external
  • broadcast for clients and guests.
  • Plans production with clients, decides timeliness and scheduling
  • Liaises with technical staff to produce raw footage for editing in
    conformity with the client brief
  • Produce polished, professional, and error free content with high
    production values and at a fast pace.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Producer Spark Programs & “Mwasuzemutya” must hold a Basic
    University degree
  • Four to six years of working experience
  • An understanding of the Ugandan political and socio-economic
    landscape
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Be a leader of people and have a keen sense of responsibility
  • Excellent command of Luganda language (spoken and written)
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute TV stories
  • Ability to drive editorial content generation process
  • Decisive and sensitive under pressure
