prepare and review legal documents, conduct research, provide legal advice and
represent the bank in legal matters in line with best practice and bank
standards of legal risk management.
- Draft and review contracts entered into by the Bank in its
operations including but not limited to procurement of goods, services and
engagement with partners in line with set turnaround timelines. - Conduct legal research and provide legal advice and guidance for
proactive compliance of the Bank with new legislation and best practices
impacting the operating environment. - Draft, review and approve documentation for provision of loans and
advances to Bank customers and perfection and registration of such
documents in compliance with relevant legislation for enforceability in
courts of law. - Prepare reports in line with internal guidelines and advise on
appropriate legal risk and performance management measures and action. - Offer legal advice/opinions and prepare responses to notices of
intention to sue from customers or their legal representatives to redress
customers or enforce bank’s rights - Represent the Bank in courts of law and the Legal Division at
Management Committee meetings. - Review investigation reports, enquiries and internal audit findings
and make recommendations for appropriate legal action to redress/safeguard
the Bank. - Support Management in monitoring and reporting internal and external
compliance performance.

job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law - Post graduate diploma in Legal practices
- Relevant post graduate qualifications will provide additional
advantage - Four years of post-enrolment experience with at least 2 years in a
Banking environment (applicant’s with similar experience from other
private or public entities will be considered)
