Job Summary:  The Partnership Officer is mainly responsible
for contributing to implementation of the partnership approach within
development and humanitarian programming, and ensuring compliance to standards
that where incorporated in the partner agreements. In accordance with pertinent
SCI policies and guidelines, adherence to the Partnership Framework including
the Partnership Policy, Strategy, Guidelines and standards.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Save the Children Partnership Officer job
    placement must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education,
    Development Studies or similar relevant field with a minimum of 3 years of
    relevant working experience in an INGO or similar.
  • Thorough understanding and demonstrated commitment to child rights
    issues and the guiding principles of the Convention on the Rights of the
    Child, including non-discrimination, child participation and the best
    interest of the child.
  • Program management experience, including demonstrated abilities
    within program/budget development, implementation and monitoring &
    evaluation.
  • Demonstrated methodological grounding, and practical experience
    with, partnership development and management processes, including capacity
    strengthening and organizational development practices (this is a must).
  • Solid understanding of the roles and dynamics of civil society and
    government actors, respectively, and the relevance of engaging with both
    parties in order to ensure effective promotion and protection of
    children’s rights
  • Strong analytical skills, tools development and writing and
    strategic planning abilities and ability to establish and maintain
    conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a
    team.
  • Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally
    under strenuous conditions..
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including
    influencing, negotiation and coaching
