Chain Assistant/Officer
Council (DRC) is a private, independent, humanitarian organization working on
all aspects of the refugee cause in more than 36 countries throughout the
world. The aim of DRC is to protect refugees and internally displaced persons
(IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of
forced migration, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC
works in accordance with the UN Conventions on Refugees and the Code of Conduct
for the ICRC and NGOs in Disaster Relief.
efficient and effective support for smooth running of Kiryandongo Supply Chain
departmental operations
- Support the Supply Chain Assistant in the following activities;
- Procurement process and filing of all related documentation.
- Data entry of procurement related tasks
- Compiling monthly procurement reports
- Updating PR/payment tracker on a weekly basis
- Undertake any other supply chain activities whenever instructed by
the Supervisor or Area Manager as necessary.
- Receive materials and update warehouse register/stock cards
- Ensure appropriate authorization is received before items are
released from the Warehouse - Share warehouse stock reports as requested by supervisor
- Ensure the warehouse is well maintained and tidy
- Ensure that all warehouse procedures, practices meet standards set
in the DRC Operations Handbook - Ensure that warehouse documentation is completed, organized, and
filed in accordance with the DRC Operations Handbook
- With support from Supply Chain Assistant
- Day-to-day management of the fleet
- Collate transport requests and prepare/monitor daily scheduling of
fleet. - Ensure that all fleet procedures, practices, and documentation meet
standards set in the DRC Fleet policy/Manual, - Ensure that fleet documentation is completed, organized, and filed
in accordance with the DRC Operations Handbook - Maintain and update all required records and paperwork for motor
vehicles and drivers.
- The ideal candidate for the Danish Refugee Council Supply Chain
Intern job placement should hold a Degree in Supply chain/Procurement and
Logistics Management or Business Management or related field. - High integrity, pro-active, stable, robust character and a good
team-player - Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
- Commitment to accountability practices.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with limited
supervision - Knowledge of computers: word processing and database management
packages. - Demonstrated desire for a career in a logistics and supply chain
related field or similar roles in INGO or other humanitarian agencies. - Excellent Communication skills in English required.
- Fluency in other local languages is an advantage.
