Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Assisting in maintaining a sound management information system or
    databank by determining, collecting, processing and storing up-to-date statistics
    required by the Ministry;
  • Tasked with designing data capture/data entry applications for
    Transport Surveys/Censuses;
  • Implementing the online dissemination module of the Transport Sector
    information system;
  • Ensuring that all data on the database server is secured through
    regular backups and updated antivirus software;
  • Designing and implementing standard metadata exchange (SDMX),
    Dashboards and profiles in line with sector monitoring and evaluation
    requirements;
  • Assisting in undertaking system studies in line with the M&E
    framework
  • Implementing data quality assessment frame;
  • Assisting in the collection of regular up-to-date and publishing
    sector’s statistics;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s
    Degree in either Computer Science; or Information System; or Statistical
    Computing; or Information Technology from a recognized
    University/Institution.
  • Competencies:
    Ethics and Integrity; Interpersonal; Communication and Computer Skills;
    ability to adapt to multi-cultural settings; effective organisational and
    planning skills; time management skills; technical skills; report writing
    skills; negotiation skills; capacity for teamwork; innovation and concern
    for results, quality and standards.
  • Age: Above 21
    years
