the National Carrier of the Republic of Uganda based at Entebbe International
Airport. It is headquartered in Entebbe, Wakiso District, Uganda, and operates
from its hub in Entebbe International Airport.
The Manager, Operations Control Centre will be in charge of ensuring that all
flight dispatch activities are coordinated in time with no delays to the
operation. The Manager liaises with flight crew, maintenance, ground personnel
and others to coordinate all ground and flight operations activities.
- Provide day-to-day administrative, functional and technical
direction to the Flight Dispatch and Load Planning departments/sections. - Liaise with the Operations Control and other departments to ensure
smooth, timely and efficient Flight Dispatch. - Develop, implement and enforce operational control standards,
policies and procedures pertaining to the Flight Dispatch functions,
keeping in line with regulatory requirements and company procedures. - Provide flight operational support through dispatch services
including, but not limited to, Flight Planning, Flight Watch, Weather
Briefing, and communications as required by the Uganda CAA Regulations and
other applicable sections of the Flight Operations Manual. - Ensure that all Flight Dispatch personnel are provided with adequate
training, suitable to the position they hold within the Flight Dispatch
organization. - Ensure that Company flights are safely and efficiently planned,
cleared, and monitored, in accordance with established standards and
regulations. - Initiate, maintain and apply future development of Flight Dispatch
Standard Operating Procedures Manual and all other manuals and documents
relating to the Flight Dispatch function, including ensuring that these
manuals and documents are reviewed annually. - Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOP) to ensure
safe operations and compliance with the UCARS. - Monitor and assess Flight Dispatcher performance in relation to
SOPs. - Maintain complete and accurate records of Flight Dispatcher
evaluations and training. - Provide work schedules which ensure adequate and efficient Flight
Dispatcher staffing. - Monitor daily statistics for: On time performance; Aircraft
utilization; Crew utilization and duty time; Analysis of flight delays;
and irregularities and diversions. - Determine Flight Dispatcher training requirements and the
development and delivery of training courses and criteria. - Maintain ongoing Liaison with Maintenance Dept on equipment
serviceability status and applicable limitations with regard to MEL,
hours, cycles and scheduled maintenance down-days. - Manage and ensure ongoing integrity and operational
capacity/capability of all Flight Dispatch technical support systems. - Prepare operating and capital expenditure budgets related to Flight
Dispatch. - Liaise with external agencies relevant to Operations Co-ordination.
- Be responsible for receipt, validation and upgrade of airport
reference information.
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Airlines Manager, Operations
Control Centre job placement must hold a Flight Operations Officer License
or Airline Transport Pilot License. - At least three years of working experience in an airline Operations
Control/Flight Dispatch. - Good communication skills.
- Good team player.
- Understanding of schedules and fleet operations.
- Computer literacy skills
