• Ensure safe and efficient management of all aspects of the Company’s
  ground operations.
• Ensure that the ground operations organization is adequately
  resourced and managed.
• Manage and monitor service providers to ensure the ground operations
  product is delivered effectively and to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Prepare, update, amend, publish and disseminate Company’s approved
  Ground Operations Manual, in liaison with the Quality Manager.
• Supervise and ensure training of the Company’s ground handling
  agents and Uganda Airlines ground operations staff.
• Ensure station inspections are performed in cooperation with the
  Quality Department and ensure corrective actions are implemented for any
  audit findings.
• Prepare the annual budget and monitor the costs of Uganda Airlines
  ground operations and remain within budgetary parameters.
• Participate in the compilation of aircraft load and trim data in
  liaison with Operations Control and ensure Departure Control Systems (DCS)
  are up to date.
• Follow up ground operations Safety Management System (SMS) and
  Health and Safety (H&S) correspondences/audits and inspection reports.
• Liaise with the Head of Security for network security, immigration
  issues, fines and investigations.
• Have overall responsibility for all Stations Databases, including
  regular maintenance and update these databases.
• Act as the entry point for any new partner (code sharing) in
  relation with procedures, checks and implementation.
• Work in close collaboration with the Head of Procurement on
  Proposals for ground handling contracts and Service Level Agreements
  (SLAs).
• Ensure compliance with IOSA and ISAGO standard requirements.
• Ensure that the products defined by commercial department are
  implemented at all stations.

• The ideal candidate for the Uganda Airlines Manager Ground
  Operations job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree or relevant
  professional qualifications.
• Extensive Ground Operations experience in an airline or handling
  company.
• Detailed knowledge of Ground Handling requirements, including
  Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
• Knowledge of IATA ground handling procedures.
• Knowledge of IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) an
  advantage.
• Previous experience at senior management level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage work in shifts, under pressure, with a high degree
  of personal/professional flexibility.
• Excellent people management skills.
• Proven influencing and problem solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to technological changes in a fast paced, dynamic
  environment.
• Proven experience in the aviation industry – particularly in
  operations of Air-side Safety.
