Integrated Development Initiatives (CIDI)

Development Initiatives (CIDI) is a National NGO that coordinates and
implements several projects in Uganda. CIDI works at the vanguard of community
development focusing on four thematic areas; water and sanitation promotion,
sustainable agriculture for food and incomes, health promotion, conflict
prevention and peace resolution. CIDI with branches across the country works
amongst the poor and vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas to
improve their livelihoods.
for spearheading development and implementation of CIDI Humanitarian Strategic
plan, Manage planning for disaster preparedness and response including relief
efforts particularly Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, food, shelter etc. Also
coordination with other key stakeholders in humanitarian efforts.
- Plan, implement and Coordinate CIDI Humanitarian activities.
- Have knowledge of internationally accepted core humanitarian
standards and implement CIDI activities with reference to these standards - Steer the identifying of key partners and serve as a key link with
these partners delivery of humanitarian services. - Liaise with OPMs office and other stakeholders for effective
coordination and following of established guidelines. - Respond to National emergency alerts to guide planning and
implementation and advice CIDI management accordingly. - Manage beneficiary identification, recording, organization,
sensitization etc. - Manage distributions of humanitarian aid to the identified
beneficiaries. - Prepare annual/quarterly work-plan, ‘budgets, and annual/quarterly
reports and other reports such as distribution reports as may be needed
from time to time. - Carry out regular monitoring, evaluation and documentation of
lessons for sharing with Key staffs - Support and supervise CIDI staff and volunteers involved in
conducting humanitarian work.
- The ideal candidate must hold a Degree in Social Sciences,
Development Studies, Public Health, Food Science and other related fields.
Specific training in delivery of humanitarian services in an added
advantage. - Three years of experience working with reputable organizations
delivering humanitarian services - Community Mobilization, Sensitization, good analytical and
arithmetic skills, project planning and management, knowledge of
organization and delivering relief, food and nonfood items, crowd
management, gender analysis, vulnerability Assessment Skills etc.
