Job Summary: The Finance Payments Officer will facilitate
the development of effective and efficient payments process which ensures that
payments are processed in line with the agreed SLA for suppliers and staff
related payments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing payments and preparing payment vouchers.
- Ensure that costs and revenues are attributed correctly to the
functions. - Managing the filing system for all payments processed on a daily
basis. - Preparing and issuing WHT certificates to suppliers.
- Advising suppliers and staff when their payments have been
processed. - Handling queries and complaints from suppliers and staff and
ensuring that they are resolved in timely. - Handling dispatch/issuing of drafts against a supplier payment.
- Retrieving filed documents and payments for audit or other purposes.
- Ensuring that the Finance archives is properly managed. Access is
restricted and monitored at all times. - Monitoring and replenishing stationery stock for Finance department.
- Preparing RTGS, TTs and Draft submission schedule on a daily basis
and submitting these to operations for processing. - Collecting invoices from the reception and ensuring that they are
properly recorded in Finance register and systems.
Communication
- Ensure effective and excellent communication and working
relationships with colleagues in the department and the bank in general - Attend meetings with Senior managers and other staff in the bank
Risk, Governance
and Regulatory: “Ensure that
all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory
requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays
Policies and Policy Standards. Understand and manage risks and risk events
(incidents) relevant to the role.”

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Barclays Bank UK Finance Payments
Officer job must hold a University degree preferably in Accounting or
Finance Or a full/partial Professional qualification in Accounting - Excellent Communication
- Interpersonal Relationship skills
- Commercial awareness
- Prior experience in a lending environment
- Confident in a customer facing role
- Knowledge of Barclays Group Governance and Control Policies
- Working knowledge of the financial reporting system.
- Knowledge of the Bank’s internal control mechanism.
- Strong Computer skills
