Job Summary: The incumbent will drive vehicles, monitor
their condition, and inform the supervisors of any need for maintenance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide effective

- Drive the assigned motor vehicles as instructed, reporting any
faults or areas of concern - Transport staff, clients and visitors as instructed
- Transport and deliver items, letters, equipments among others as
need may arise - Ensure safety of passengers and cargo by observing the appropriate
traffic regulations - Maintain a record of movements for the vehicles assigned, through
proper and accurate record of mileages in logbooks - Observe and respect traffic rules, as required by the laws.
- Ensure that personal driving licences are valid and renewed on time

- Ensure maximum security of vehicles and their accessories
- Monitor technical conditions of vehicles and promptly report faults
- Carry out minor repairs and adjustments on the vehicles
- Ensure that vehicles are kept clean and tidy, both inside and
outside, and that the vehicle washing bay is kept clean and tidy at all
times - Regularly check level of water, oil level, battery water etc on
vehicles before driving - Ensure that assigned vehicles are well stocked with first aid box
and emergency vehicle spares - To monitor and report service expiry mileage
- Ensure Vehicles well looked after and keys kept at designated place.
Assist the
Transport Coordinator in coordinating and implementing department activities to
ensure efficient & effective performance.

- Coordinate department activities as assigned by the Transport
Coordinator - Compile and submit to Transport Coordinator, assigned activity
reports - Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably expected from the
Transport Coordinator, Support Services Manager, Director of Finance and
Operations or any of the other Managers or Directors
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Uganda Certificate of Education (O’ Level)
- Possession of a valid driving Permit for the classes of vehicles
assigned - Certificate in defensive driving
- Three years of experience in driving organisation vehicles
- Knowledge of motor vehicle operations and mechanics
- Knowledge of traffic laws and rules
