About US:
A leading company
based in Namanve is looking for a skilled Database Administrator to support the
IT department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Database Management
·        
Ensure
that the Oracle Database has the latest security patches
·        
Carry
out User Acceptance Tests of the new application releases and work out
solutions or escalate to developers.
·        
Ensure
that Oracle Enterprise Linux has the latest system patches.
·        
Schedule
automatic backups for the database such as scripting jobs to carry out a number
of backup tasks.
·        
Carryout
backup tests regularly to ensure that backups are reliable.
·        
Monitor
database performance to ensure that user speeds are not affected.
·        
Manage
the integrity of the organization’s database by managing user access rights.
Infrastructure
Management
·        
Assist
the IT manager to Identify reliable suppliers for reliable IT equipment
·        
Deploy
and configure any new servers on Production and Test Environments
·        
Ensure
that replication and synchronization is ongoing and ensure that any
eventualities are resolved.
·        
Ensure
that backup tapes are monitored and tested regularly.
·        
Train
the IT assistants in the use of new systems/interfaces.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicant
must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and relevant IT qualifications are an added
advantage
·        
At least
two years of related experience is desired.
·        
Specific
Knowledge: Database and Systems
Management Skills preferably on oracle, Redhat 7, Oracle Linux, IBM Storwize
V3700 System or IBM Storwize V7000 System, commvault, VMware vSphere
Enterprise, VMware SRM & Vcenter server
