Job Summary:   The
Awards Manager will sit within the NGO Education Consortium to provide
operational support throughout the life cycle of a new award. The Awards
Manager will be expected to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders and
partners. The Awards Manager will be responsible for project cycle management,
ensuring that the programme is implemented in line with donor expectations and
compliance, in a well-coordinated manner. The Awards Manager is responsible for
ensuring that financial and narrative reports are prepared and submitted on
time and to a high quality and for maintaining the Awards Management System. In
the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected
to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours
accordingly.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Save the Children Awards Manager job
    placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business administration,
    international development / human rights, finance management or any
    related field
  • Five years of experience in grants management in an international
    non-governmental organsiation
  • Significant experience working with and building the capacity of
    partners
  • Strong financial management competencies and literacy; understanding
    of accounting structures
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities. Computer
    literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
  • Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and
    perform effectively as a member of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally
    under strenuous conditions.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an
    international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and
    cultures.
  • Experience supporting or working on refugee response, and / or
    education programming
