Planning Officer

am Development (C&D) and five other technical partners, Caritas Moroto
Diocese is implementing a new five-year (October 2017 — September 2022) Development
Food Security Activities (DFSA) Programme entitled “Nuyok” meaning “It is
Ours.” Caritas Moroto Diocese will be working through government, community and
private-sector systems and structures in implementing the Nuyok project in the
Districts of Napak and Nakapiripirit.
- Assist the community planning officer and facilitators in the
formulation of inclusive village development plan process - Work closely with the community facilitators and project team to
identify the various interventions that have been planned for the villages
by various actors - Plan activities with the community facilitators, mentor and monitor
them - Monitor the progress of the field activities and ensure
sustainability strategy in place - Compile the field facilitators’ reports and submit to the Community
Planning Officer. - Write case stories, success stories and report.
- Support the communities to develop inclusive village developments
plans and actions that respond to their needs and priorities. - Mobilize the communities to participate and ensure representative
participation from women and youth in all the project themes. - Support the community facilitators to disseminate the SBCC messages
to the community and targeted beneficiaries - Supervision of the community facilitators.
- Monitor the progress of the communities in the implementation of the
VDP activities. - Coaching and mentorship of the traditional and official government
structures on the integration and development of the inclusive village
development plans. - Coordinate with Sub-county and community local leaders to enhance
community dialogue and participation. - Support the community to identify the Male Change Agents in the
villages without the male change agents. - Report weekly and monthly activities to the Community Planning
Officer.
- The applicant must hold a Diploma or a Certificate in community
development or any other relevant field - Individuals with ‘A’ or ‘O’ Level Certificate, or with more than three years of community work, especially as group facilitators may be
considered. - Working knowledge and experience in community action planning,
Gender Based Violence prevention and response - Demonstrated skills in networking, collaboration, education,
community consultations and organizational development - Strong communication and diplomatic skills
- Possession of self-drive; able to work with minimal supervision
- Good reports writing skills
- Fluency in Ngakarimojong and being a permanent resident of the
village, Parish or Sub-county in which Nuyok project is being implemented.
