Sciences Program is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery
organization. It strives to improve the quality of life of the local population
through a combination of community based research, curative services and
prevention strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is
based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai
District.

Job Summary: The District Quality Improvement Officer will
provide technical assistance to all project supported facilities assigned to
him/her in the area of clinical and laboratory quality improvement and
assurance as well as OVC program. He/she will support activities which will
evaluate and document quality improvement and compliance with SIMS and MoH
standards of services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure presence
of functional QI teams at district, HSD and facility levels

jobholder will support the DHT in training and mentorship of staff on service
guidelines and standard operating procedures

support the sites with monthly data use meetings and ensure strategies are
devised to achieve program targets.

support the DHT and Health facilities review their surge data on weekly basis
and devise interventions to meet their weekly targets.

support the DHT conduct regular performance evaluation, learning sessions and
supportive supervision of facilities following agreed standard procedures.

support CBO to use CQI approaches to achieve program targets both in OVC
program and Community- facility linkages.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
ideal candidate must hold a diploma in Clinical Medicine or Nursing. Bachelor’s
in public health, B.Sc. Nursing is an added advantage

two years of experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives in
health care settings

of HMIS tools, and Pep far reporting, Knowledge of MER 2.1 PEPFAR indicators
will be an additional advantage;

Mentoring
