About URA:
The Uganda Revenue
Authority (URA) was established by the Uganda Revenue Authority Statute of 1991
and set up in September of the same year as a central body for assessment and
collection of specified revenue, to administer and enforce the laws relating to
such revenue and to provide for related matters. This statute incorporated all
the laws that were in force then regarding tax collection. The new organization
(URA) amalgamated the three tax administration departments that were
responsible for all the taxes collected by the Central Government of Uganda.

Job Summary: The Officer Litigation will represent the
Authority in Courts of Law and Tax Appeals Tribunal and report on all cases
handled so as to safeguard the organization’s interests.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Officer
Litigation job opportunities should hold honors Degrees in Law from a
recognized University - Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
- At least two years of experience in handling litigation in a large
organization or busy law firm. - Certificate of enrolment as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda
- Knowledge and Experience
- Laws and regulations of Uganda and EAC
- Professional Ethics and the Laws of Uganda governing taxation
- Strong analytical skills
- High proficiency in the use of computer applications for report
writing and research (Knowledge of MS Office required) - Knowledge of procurement law
- Excellent command of the English language – both spoken and written
- A team player and good negotiator
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Good research skills
