Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide specialized support for the overall implementation of
    displacement/mobility tracking activities in Uganda.
  • Coordinate closely with relevant stakeholders and partners including
    government authorities, UN agencies and NGOs in the set up and flow of
    information collected through cross-border migrant flow monitoring activities.
  • Regularly liaise and maintain strong partnerships with relevant
    field stakeholders and partners including government authorities, UN
    agencies and NGOs in ensuring the success of the cross-border flow
    monitoring activities.
  • Participate in recruitment of enumerators for flow monitoring points
    in areas of high mobility flows as identified through community
    participatory mapping and other sources.
  • Coordinate facilitation of site assessments in identified locations
    and data collection activities.
  • Provide regular updates and analysis on the cross-border flows and
    mobility dynamics as established through focus group discussions, site
    assessments and other networks.
  • Prepare and deliver project briefings to relevant forums, including
    the humanitarian Interagency Coordination Group.
  • Prepare regular activity reports in coordination with the DTM
    Program Officer
  • Provide regular trainings to build the capacity of enumerators to
    ensure quality data collection.
  • Undertake regular field travel to monitor, strengthen and provide
    update on activities as necessary.
  • Other duties as required.     

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the International Organization for Migration
    IOM Programme Assistant- DTM job opportunity should hold a High School Degree/
    Certificate with 6 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with
    4 years of relevant experience Humanities and Social Sciences, Business
    Administration, International Relations.
  • Six years (Four years for Bachelor’s degree or higher) of relevant
    professional experience.
  • Proven experience in research including data analysis and reporting.
  • DTM experience is an advantage.
