Job Summary:  The Supervisor Consumer Lending is responsible
for supporting and implementing strategies to grow the Bank’s consumer lending
Portfolio in line with the bank’s business plan and policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Business
development & growth:
  • Identify target market for consumer products by Mapping out partners
    and customers with good potential according to the lending guidelines of
    the bank.
  • Prepare proposals recommending partners to management for on
    boarding on the bank’s consumer products such as housing, solar among
    others.
  • Participate in projects and key consumer lending products campaigns
    geared towards the growth of the consumer lending portfolio
  • Prepare and follow up the signing of memorandums of Understanding
    with potential partners and bank management.
  • Provide support to branches through timely approval or recommendation
    of loan application with in the approval limits as per bank policy and
    procedures.
  • Monitor the consumer lending loan portfolio growth in areas such as
    Housing, Solar among others and follow up on non performing branches in
    accordance with the set targets and in line with credit policy guidelines.
Monitoring and
Recovery:
  • Monitor the consumer lending loan portfolio quality for the various
    products and follow up recovery of delinquent loans according to the
    targets given and in line with credit policy and regulatory framework.
  • Regularly monitor and review special loan schemes like such as
    USAID, GVEP for purposes of maintaining a quality portfolio.
  • Evaluate consumer lending loan portfolio quality of all the branches
    through preparation of a trend analysis report on a monthly basis and
    advise on corrective actions.
Capacity Building:
  • Conduct capacity building trainings for loans officers in line with
    Credit policies and identified training needs assessment.
  • Identify, coach and maintain a database of product champions across
    the branch network
  • Continuously coach /engage branches with the aim of developing skill
    and capacity in the area of management of the various consumer lending
    products such as housing, Solar, and various loan schemes
Relationship Management:
  • Manage Relationship with consumer lending partners and work through
    branch champions to manage relationships for employers coordinated at
    branches.
  • Follow through for resolution of issues that have been raised from
    Branches and are beyond Branch mandate in relation to any of the consumer
    lending products
  • Engage closely with the various partners such as USAID, Housing
    companies etc through meetings, updates with the aim to maintain good
    communication /relations.
Budgeting and
Reporting:
  • Generate periodic reports on the consumer lending products quality
    and performance across the bank network
  • Actively participate in the branch budgets and targets for consumer
    lending products portfolio and engage with branches where necessary on a
    periodic basis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Centenary Bank Supervisor Consumer
    Lending job placement should have three years’ experience in credit
    supervision in a regulated financial institution.
  • Good record of accomplishment of performance with portfolio growth
    rate of not less than 10% and average NPR of not 3.5% for the last one
    year.
