funded by the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID).
implementing the USAID/Uganda’s Integrated Community, Agriculture, and
Nutrition (ICAN) Activity, which will aim to sustainably enhance the resilience
of vulnerable households by increasing economic opportunities for poor
households, improving nutrition with a focus on women and children, and
strengthening community and local governance.
responsible for overseeing implementation of ICAN activities that seek to
improve maternal, infant, and young child care and feeding practices (MIYCP),
increase use of safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene practices and
products, and increase consumption of diverse, safe, and nutritious food.
- Provide thought leadership and technical expertise on nutrition and
WASH strategies, partnerships, and activities during annual work planning. - With the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Advisor,
contribute to the regular review of MEL data for adaptive management. - Ensure technical excellence of and provide ongoing support to
technical staff in each sub-region, including assisting in the development
of locally tailored activities, quality assurance, training of project
staff, and assessing the need for specialized STTA. - Perform any other duties as required.
- The ideal candidate for the Sub-Purpose 2 Lead, Nutrition USAID
Project job placement should hold a Graduate degree in nutrition, public
health, or related field. - Ten years of progressively responsible experience implementing
international development programs focused on nutrition. - Three years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required.
