Corporation (URC) is a body corporate established under an Act of Parliament to
construct, operate and maintain railway, marine and road services both inside
and outside Uganda for the carriage of passengers and goods. As a result of
privatisation of operations, the mandate of URC changed from that of an
operator to that of asset holder, concession monitor and advisor on railway
technical matters.

Job Summary: The Internal Audit Assistant will provide
assistance to Internal Auditors during the performance of low and moderate risk
rated audit assignments

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tasked with the examination and verification of salaries and wages
change notes - Ensuring through physical verification that both micro procurements
and works are delivered as requisitioned for. - Ensuring through verifications that fuel procurements and usage for
standby generators and Corporation Motor vehicles are conducted as per
procedure. - Participate in inventory/stock and end year Cash counting exercises
- Verify monthly rent collection and banking by upcountry stations
- Perform any other duties assigned by a Senior Internal Auditor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Railways Corporation (URC) Internal
Audit Assistant job placement should possess a Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting/Finance - Part qualifications in CPA, ACCA
- A minimum of two years of related work experience
- High integrity & confidentiality
- Good interpersonal skills and team work
- Good personal presentation skills
- Age: 25 – 35 years
