Advocacy and Communications Coordinator
Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous
not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the
Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a
Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres
of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa,
Eastern Europe and North America.
Identify
issues in society, but specifically Baylor-Uganda’s clients and stakeholders
that can affect the Organisation’s image
Build
strong networks with public and private partner organizations, especially the
Media for concerted PR and Advocacy efforts and greater participation in policy
dialogue, Conduct Photography and Video recording activities, document,
archive, brand and share experiences arising from advocacy interventions
Build
the capacity of Baylor-Uganda staff in advocacy, partnering and networking
Draft
and submit Information, Education, Communication materials for communication
and Advocacy on HIV/TB/ Pediatric Cancer care, prevention, treatment and care
Actively
participate in organising events, media conferences and other advocacy
campaigns on issues related to HIV/TB care, treatment and prevention and other
emerging priorities
Keenly monitor
the implementation of communication, advocacy strategies that will promote a
vibrant civil society, targeted community mobilization and community engagement
in advocacy, information sharing and resource mobilization
To
manage the Baylor Uganda’s online platforms
Support
in accurate and timely documentation and dissemination as well as Promotion of
Baylor Uganda’s impact stories, image and advocacy agenda on website and Social
media pages
Prepare
and submit performance reports ,
The
applicant for the Baylor Uganda Regional PR & Communications Officer job
must hold a degree in Mass Communication (Public Relations/Media
Communication).
A
relevant post graduate qualification in Communication is an added advantage.
A
minimum of three (3) years working experience in a reputable Organisation,
preferably NGOs involved in health service delivery
qualified and interested candidates with a desire to work with the Baylor
College of Medicine Children’s Foundation should send their cover letters with

You must have at least a credit 6 in MATH and ENGLISH.
