Corporation (URC) is a body corporate established under an Act of Parliament to
construct, operate and maintain railway, marine and road services both inside
and outside Uganda for the carriage of passengers and goods. As a result of
privatisation of operations, the mandate of URC changed from that of an
operator to that of asset holder, concession monitor and advisor on railway
technical matters.
manage the development of the Corporation’s Strategy and Business Plan,
Development suitable monitoring and evaluation framework and tools and to
conduct regular monitoring to ensure alignment between the developed business
plan and Corporation’s Strategy in accordance with Policy and Budgetary
guidelines approved by the Board and the Minister.
- Corporate Strategy: Plan and develop long-term corporate strategy in
line with the Corporation’s Vision and Sector Strategic Plans - Business Planning: Direct subordinate and department heads in
developing the Corporation’s business plan by providing proper guidelines
and information to ensure alignment of business plans with corporate
strategy. - Work coordination
- Budget and Work Plan follow-up

Principal Corporate Planning Officer job placement should possess a
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Transport Economics, Business
Administration or Equivalent - MBA or graduate degree in Economic and Policy Planning, Transport
Engineering, Transport Economics and Planning or related field - Project Management Professional
- Knowledge of Transport Sector development policy and planning
- Ability to analyse very complex operations data and draw logical
frameworks - Knowledge of public investment and project development frameworks
- Management of Complex Projects and delivery of the same under tight
schedules with limited resources. - Working in multi-dimensional organisational set – up and ability to
work in a highly unstructured environment - Good leadership and team working.
- Champion knowledge of Excel and MS Project applications
- Experience in writing and analysing high level business reports
