Systems & Strengthening Manager
Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous
not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the
Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a
Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres
of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa,
Eastern Europe and North America.
Develop
a regional OVC Work plan and budget and monitor the integration of OVC
activities into the districts and Health facilities plans and budget as well as
the follow up the receipt of OVC sub grants
Carry
out community mobilization programmes for sensitization about child protection
and legal support while promoting women emancipation and advocate for the
rights of OVCs
Review
and implement procedures that will enable OVC, their care takers and households
to understand, tap and utilize opportunities for asset growth and skills in
income growth
Monitor
the implementation of strategies that enhances improved nutrition through
linkages with appropriate service providers for increased agricultural
production and access to food
Review
and implement a strategy for identifying eligible geographical and target
groups/ individuals for OVC services while updating the OVC electronic database
and filing system then disseminate the relevant information to key stake
holders
Monitor
the distribution, storage and usage of OVC data/tools/ registers during data
capturing and timely reporting plus the updating of OVC management information
system
Develop
and maintain functional community based partnerships and referral systems
through holding periodic performance planning/review and feed backs meetings
Routinely
monitor referrals between the identified eligible OVC and other OVC service
providers
Build
the capacity of existing community based structures and networks based on
identified needs in handling OVCs activities through training, mentorships
& support supervision
Review
and monitor the implementation of periodic Baylor performance targets for OVC
programs.
Write
and submit period reports to key stake holders
Carry
out research and prevent OVC aligned to “HIV prevention, care and support”
oriented research/best practices in CMEs, conferences and other medical related
fora
The
applicant for the Baylor Uganda OVC Coordinator job must hold a degree in Adult
& Community education /social work and social Administration /Community
Psychology /Development Studies
Possession
of a master’s degree in a Community based related course /Public Health
A
minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing OVC Programs with a
reputable NGO
qualified and interested candidates with a desire to work with the Baylor
College of Medicine Children’s Foundation should send their cover letters with
