Job Summary:  The Nutrition Assistant is the project
nutritional technical person responsible for all nutritional related
activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Co-ordinate and monitor the implementation of nutritional activities
    including capacity building of community nutritional structures.
  • Ensure that all activity reports are prepared and submitted to the
    project manager for sharing with all the relevant stake holders
    periodically after implementation.
  • Identify potential problems in the project implementation and
    discuss remedial action with project authorities or report to appropriate
    personnel
  • Establish mechanism of capturing, analyzing, reporting and
    interpreting findings (Indicators) and best practices in relation to
    complementary activities and their objectives.
  • Support organizational learning by documenting the program impact
    and dissemination of lessons learnt through success stories.
  • Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the AMREF Nutrition Assistant job placement
    should a Bachelor of Science in nutrition.
  • The individual with relevant work experience (previous experience
    implementing a health project and an ability to relate effectively and
    understands the socio economic and Cultural situation of the project area.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, decision making
    and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure.
