Uganda Cancer Institute Act of 2016, the UCI is an autonomous body, with the
mandate to, among others, undertake and coordinate the management of cancer and
cancer-related diseases in Uganda. It is critical to the evolution of a
National Centre of Excellence, providing specialized treatment and care for all
types of cancer using all the available subspecialty expertise possible, as
well as engineering oncology-centered research and training.
- Actively participate in ensuring effective management of services in
his/her specialty at catchment area covered by the hospital. - To supervise and train Medical Officers and other Health
professionals under him/her - To participate in the training programmes for all health
professionals under him/her - To supervise and train Intern Doctors
- To participate in continuing Medical Education in his/her specialty
for health professionals at the hospital and the catchment area of the
Hospital - To plan, coordinate and conduct operational research in his/ her
specialty - To participate in the management of referral system for patients at
National level - To ensure that discipline and the ethical code of conduct are
observed by the staff under him/her - To provide technical and professional advice to Government or
Institution in his area of specialty - To advise on the procurement of equipment, drugs and other

- The applicant for the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) Medical Officer
Special Grade (Radiology) job must be a Ugandan holding an MBChB degree or
its equivalent from a recognized university or institution - Master of medicine degree in Radiology from a recognized University
or Institution. - Applicants should be fully registered with the Uganda Medical and
Dental Practitioners Council - Should have potential for leadership and be of high integrity
