Uganda (HAU) is a national organization which was founded in 1993 to promote
modern methods of pain and symptom control as well as “whole-person”
(holistic) care for patients living with cancer and HIV/AIDS. HAU strives to
uphold excellent clinical standards and provide quality education courses and
advocacy activities to promote the spread of palliative care throughout Uganda
and Africa.

Job Summary: The Grants Manager secures income to support
HAU‘s mission and activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proposal writing: Searching for, developing, and negotiating
partnerships with donors. Writing & submission of proposals to donors.
Responding to donor feedback and revising proposals as needed. Outlining
key messaging, and writing to persuade donor giving. Coordinating all the
work of members cooped to support proposal writing into cohesive &
compelling proposals and budgets. - Information Management: Create and manage templates for proposal
development, information gathering & donor reporting. Works closely
with Programmes and Communications teams to draw upon and add to HAU’s
core messaging and provides a key resource for knowledge and programming - Donor Reporting: Working with Programme Manager. He/she supports
submission of reports. - Other: Support development of new initiatives and engage in HAU
fundraising activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Master’s degree
- Five years of relevant experience with three years’ experience at
senior level in global grants writing. - Excellent communication, persuasive writing, editing and
presentation skills - Good coordination and time management skills.
