Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Preparing quarterly financial statements for consolidation
    reporting.
  • Preparing financial statements for reconciliation in galaxy
  • Supporting the monthly and year end closure process to produce
    reliable statements in time and in liaison with cost control
  • Participating in the cash call and billing with the Business &
    Development team and preparing quarterly reporting to Bank of Uganda.
  • Preparing the annual vendor database clean up and providing support
    and documentation requested by auditors (internal & external).
  • Acting for the Chief accountant in his absence, acting for the
    treasurer in case of long term absence.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicants for the TOTAL General Accountant for Upstream job
    opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or
    Business Administration.
  • Six years of experience in Accounting and ideally finance in the Oil
    & Gas industry
  • Knowledge of the SALSA/SAP software
  • Excellent organizational, numeracy and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills both oral and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel
