About Global Fund Malaria Grant Project:
World vision Uganda
in collaboration with TASO Uganda will implement a global fund Malaria grant
for 3 years to support existing initiatives in malaria control through vector
control, integrated case management, building resilient sustainable systems for
health and social and behavior change communication (SBCC) in in the districts
of Wakiso, Gomba, Butambala, Mpigi, Kalungu, Masaka, Rakai, Kyotera,
Bukomansimbi, Mukono, Kampala, Mubende and Mityana.
Job Summary:  The Project Officer – Global Fund Malaria
Grant will support the project manager to coordinate all project activities at
district and community levels and monitoring progress towards achievement of
targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Project Management:
  • Engage schools and institutions in scaling up malaria interventions
  • Facilitate integration of malaria talking points into all programs
    of the clergy
  • Plan for refresher trainings for DHMT, VHTs and supervisors on new
    iCCM guidelines
  • Organize and participate in quarterly support supervision for health
    facilities and VHTs
  • Mobilize communities towards better malaria preventive measures
  • Organize training of private sector HRH in IMM and HMIS
  • Conduct community dialogues, films and sports events for malaria
    prevention, treatment and management
  • Provide necessary technical guidance to district and community
    partners during the course of the project
  • Ensure that all Malaria grant and other related deliverables are
    achieved according to DIP
Documentation,
Monitoring, Reporting, accountability and Evaluation
  • Work closely with the Project Manager in the preparation of quality
    project reports
  • Oversee the rollout of the Malaria grant data collection process at
    the community and health facility level
  • Maintain records of activity implementation as approved by the PM
  • Prepare for and participates in project monitoring and evaluations
  • Organize learning and accountability meeting (reelection meetings)
  • Prepare Monthly work plans and reports
  • Conduct quality checks of all the monitoring data and ensure filling
    and entry into specific database.
  • Document lessons learned, promising practices and case studies from
    the project sites.
Networking and
Collaboration
  • Identify and build district and community strategic linkages,
    relations, collaborations and networks with actors to support planning and
    implementation of Malaria project activities
  • Effectively engage and Network with district local government
    structures and any other agencies to promote community ownership and
    Sustainability of Interventions.
  • Actively participate in relevant district engagements to position
    World Vision as a strategic partner in malaria programing
Finance Management
  • Manage any project assets in line with WV and donor policies
  • Support Partners and Sub Grantees to adhere to WV finance and Asset
    Management policies.
  • Manage and account for allocated monies in line with WV and donor
    policies

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the World Vision Project Officer – Global
    Fund Malaria Grant job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
    Nursing, environmental health, medicine, public health, Nutrition or any
    related discipline.
  • At least two years of related experience in working in Malaria
    programing
  • Experience in working communities with good knowledge of public
    health system and structures
  • Broad knowledge and understanding the social determinants of health
    and community dynamics.
  • Knowledge of community based Malaria prevention, treatment and
    management services
  • Strong interpersonal communication, networking and coordination
    skills.
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational
    diversities.
