Quality Assurance Manager
Council (DRC) is a private, independent, humanitarian organization working on
all aspects of the refugee cause in more than 36 countries throughout the
world. The aim of DRC is to protect refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs)
against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced
migration, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC works
in accordance with the UN Conventions on Refugees and the Code of Conduct for
the ICRC and NGOs in Disaster Relief.
Take on
a coordinating role in DRC Uganda’s strategic engagement with partners from the
private sector;
Support
in fundraising or other strategic initiatives within the private sector
engagements of DRC Uganda. This includes exploring and providing advice on new
fundraising trends and models such as impact investments and humanitarian
impact bonds.
Coordinate
DRC’s ongoing partnership with Grundfos – The Business-Humanitarian Partnership
Lab – that aims to improve water delivery modalities for refugees in
Uganda;
Ensure
timely and quality reporting of the above-mentioned project and any other
projects added to the private sector portfolio;
Support
(in close coordination with the Senior MEAL Officer) the achievement of all
monitoring and evaluation deliverables under the above-mentioned project;
Lead
external communication efforts on private sector partnerships – including
preparing briefing notes, consolidating background information, etc.;
Coordinate
and lead planning and hosting of all stakeholder visits related to private
sector partnerships;
Be the
day-to-day focal point for engagements with the Business Engagement Initiative
team (BEI) in DRC Headquarters in Copenhagen.
responsibilities
Delivering
support as requested as per instruction by the Quality Assurance Manager within
the areas covered by the Quality Assurance Team (Grants, MEAL, Communication
& Advocacy) – including for example:
Support
to Grants Team (e.g. proposal or concept note development, reporting, various
quality assurance processes)
Support
to Communication and Advocacy processes (e.g. quality checking of materials for
external publication, support to collection and consolidation of information)
Support
to MEAL processes (quality checking of reports, support to learning processes –
especially on private sector engagement).
The applicant
must hold a University degree in business studies, development studies,
international relations or other related field;
At least
two years of working experience in humanitarian, development or business sector
Knowledge/experience
in business-development or business-humanitarian collaboration
Knowledge/interest
in new funding trends affecting humanitarian work including the involvement of
investors and other actors/institutions from the private sector
Ability
to turn strategic ideas into action, self-motivated and with a strong
commitment to teamwork
Knowledge
and experience of project cycle management
Ability
to communicate effectively at different levels and across cultures
Excellent
organizational skills, ability to determine priorities and attention to detail
Commitment
to the values, vision and mission of DRC
Desirable:
Knowledge
of humanitarian/refugee responses and coordination mechanisms
Previous
experience in Uganda, Horn of Africa or similar context
