Uganda Cancer Institute Act of 2016, the UCI is an autonomous body, with the
mandate to, among others, undertake and coordinate the management of cancer and
cancer-related diseases in Uganda. It is critical to the evolution of a
National Centre of Excellence, providing specialized treatment and care for all
types of cancer using all the available subspecialty expertise possible, as
well as engineering oncology-centered research and training.
- Liaising closely with Senior Institute staff to identify priority
areas for information collection, processing and management - Advising on policy issues relating to information gathering and
dissemination - Collating and analyzing all Institute information and documentation
- Gathering management information and documentation
- Developing and maintaining a data bank of reliable and authentic
management and other information required by the Institute and the public - Organizing and maintaining the Institute reference library
containing all the Institute publications - Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
