About US:
Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU) is the national professional accountancy
body in Uganda, established by the Accountants Act. The Institute also has a
mandate to conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda. The
Institute is mandated to also:
  • Regulate and maintain the Standard of Accountancy in Uganda.
  • Prescribe and regulate the conduct of accountants and practising
    accountants in Uganda.
Job Summary:  The Communications Officer (Digital
Platforms)  will play a key role in
enhancing digital and social media communication of the Institute.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Creates content for digital media including infographics, images,
    videos, blogs and podcasts.
  • The Communications Officer (Digital Platforms) supports the creation
    of engaging and authentic digital media.
  • Manages web content including soliciting, originating, editing and
    updating the website.
  • Coordinates with communications team to improve website’s key
    performance indicators.
  • Manages and updates content for social media sites.
  • Creates, manages and distributes electronic publications.
  • Provides input and supports the Institute’s broader communication
    activities.
  • Carries out any other duties as requested by the Head of
    Communications.    

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the ICPAU Communications Officer (Digital
    Platforms) must hold a Degree in English, Communications, Journalism,
    Digital Media, Marketing or other relevant fields 
  • Previous experience in recording, researching, writing, editing and
    producing well executed communication.
  • Ability to create digital and online communication including
    creating infographics, graphic design skills and basic videography
    including editing.
  • Experience in working with content management systems and
    applications in the delivery of website, digital and social media
    communications.
  • Highly developed written and oral communications.
  • Advanced computer literacy across a range of applications.
  • A passion for influential communications complemented by outstanding
    writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex concepts and translate them into
    engaging campaigns.
  • Ability to think creatively in a changing media environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change.
  • Strong journalistic and editorial skills.
