Skills Coordinator
a youth development centre supporting vocational skills training in its own
workshops and in private workshops in Fort Portal town, managed by
Welthungerhilfe (international NGO) and YES (national NGO). Amaani Rwenzori!
Operates a well-equipped pottery workshop of; pottery and in the beauty salon
named the beauty garage.
- Support the skills coordination unit to manage the training cycle
(register training interest of the youth, conduct information sessions,
interview, placement, sourcing and contracting trainers. - Continuous engagement with parents, trainees/apprentices &
trainers and monitoring training delivery inclusive of life skills and
entrepreneurship) - Undertake a lead role in work based learning circular development
and alignments with market needs - Manage post training activities (undertake workers PAS assessments
activities, mentoring of apprentices and graduates, coordinate many
networking, tracking and tracing of graduates and support business
start-up & incubation processes) - Generate and periodically update training and startup inputs lists
to facilitate planning and procurement processes relatedly prepare and
update lists of youth apprentices and alumni - Coordinate youth sport and leisure activities at the center (Amaani
Rwenzori ! has a sports facility) - Contribute ideas and support Protect Management in proposal writing
initiatives - Represent Amaani Rwenzori YES and Welthungerhiife in relevant for a
as delegated by management - Support the skills coordination unit in planning, perform MEAL
activities and generate reports.
- The ideal candidate must hold a University Degree in adult and community education, social development studies and other related
- Three years of relevant working experience in youth and community
development work - Well-developed interpersonal, communication, analytical and adequate
leadership skills - Dynamic, articulate, innovative, team player and passionate about
youth and development issues - Capable of speaking Runyoro-Rutooro to ease communication with the
youth, apprentices, alumni, parents and trainers who are unable to express
themselves in English. - Be adept in computer (inclusive of MS Office packages) and internal
use - Ability to ride a motorcycle and possession of a riding
license/permit is of added advantage
