Uganda (HAU) is a national organization which was founded in 1993 to promote
modern methods of pain and symptom control as well as “whole-person”
(holistic) care for patients living with cancer and HIV/AIDS. HAU strives to
uphold excellent clinical standards and provide quality education courses and
advocacy activities to promote the spread of palliative care throughout Uganda
and Africa.

- Taking ultimate responsibility for the clinical care to patients,
the Clinical Director is a member of the Senior Management Team and
provides strategic direction and leadership on clinical matters - He / she develops and implements clinical department work plans;
manages the department budget, and develops and implements clinical
policies and procedures - The incumbent also audits departmental performance and also reports
against the work plan targets. - He /she leads, supervises, supports, coaches, mentors and appraises
the inter- disciplinary clinical team, ensures team continuous
professional development and is engaged in research, and scholarly and
academic writing regarding palliative care,
- The applicant must be a Consultant-level clinician with a Master’s
degree in internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Family Medicine - Previous experience in Palliative Care is an added advantage.
