Job Summary: The Flight Operations Manager will be operating
from Entebbe, Uganda to support our African Peacekeeping (AFRICAP) program in
Somalia. The Flight Operations Manager performs the technical and
administrative tasks required to support AMISOM Troop Contributing Country air
movement of personnel, equipment, ammunition and hazardous materials. The
Flight Operations Manager works under the supervision of the Project Manager in
coordination and in coordination with Project Offices in AMISOM Troop
Contributing Countries
from Entebbe, Uganda to support our African Peacekeeping (AFRICAP) program in
Somalia. The Flight Operations Manager performs the technical and

movement of personnel, equipment, ammunition and hazardous materials. The
Flight Operations Manager works under the supervision of the Project Manager in
coordination and in coordination with Project Offices in AMISOM Troop
Contributing Countries
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and Schedules flights for AMISOM Troop Contributing
Country Militaries including personnel, equipment, ammunition and
hazardous materials. - Coordinates with AMISOM, UNSOM, and Troop Contributing Country
Aviation Authorities, and other entities as required. - Performs and manages air transportation activities.
- Plans, schedules and processes eligible air cargo, passengers, and
mail. - Prepares and maintains air movement records and reports.
- Interfaces with inspectors for equipment, ammunition and hazmat
- Verifies eligibility and compatibility of cargo offered for airlift.
- Ensures all cargo documentation, packaging, labeling and marking
requirements, and all border clearance requirements have been met. - Provides information on schedules, routes, air movement
requirements, baggage limitations, and local facilities for passengers. - Follows necessary safety and security precautions for handling and
storing dangerous materials, special cargoes, and baggage. - Familiar with proper loading and compatibility of hazardous material
according to military regulations. - Expedites cargo movement as necessary.
- Is responsible for properly calculating the weight and balance of
cargo and passenger flights. This essential duty has zero room for error
as it affects flight safety. - Completes hazardous cargo notifications for the aircrews and
prepares Hazardous Cargo Passenger Deviations and waivers as required. - Manages all the data entry in regards to pallet building, mission
reports, receipt and delivery of inbound items and retrograde cargo. - Takes charge of prioritizing the movement and delivery of all cargo
to airstrip and final destination using daily Fight Schedule once
published to ensure all cargo is pre-staged for on-time loading. - Coordinates aircraft loads including passengers and cargo with
Passenger Services and Airfield Supervisor for each flight.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least nine years of experience as a Flight Operations Manager at
least three of these years in an expeditionary setting - The applicant must hold a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Relevant air operations certifications/schools (Air Force, Army, or
USMC)
