Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments for crop problems and develop methods to secure
higher yield and improved quality. - Introduce techniques and products that could improve soil quality.
- Develop better farming conditions and train the farmers accordingly.
- Assist in crop budgeting and provide recommendations for
fertilizers, seeds and other agro-inputs‘ - Provide inputs for crop rotation planning and hybrid/variety
selection recommendations. - Plan and carry out breeding studies at experiment stations or farms
to develop and improve varieties. - Provide inputs to ensure efficient soil moisture status.
- Provide personal consultation to farmers and give educational /
promotional presentations as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree in Agriculture or Agronomy
- Master’s Degree is an added advantage
- Three years of relevant experience in agronomy and training farmers
in good agricultural practices.
