About URA:
The Uganda Revenue
Authority (URA) was established by the Uganda Revenue Authority Statute of 1991
and set up in September of the same year as a central body for assessment and
collection of specified revenue, to administer and enforce the laws relating to
such revenue and to provide for related matters. This statute incorporated all
the laws that were in force then regarding tax collection. The new organization
(URA) amalgamated the three tax administration departments that were
responsible for all the taxes collected by the Central Government of Uganda.
Job Summary:   The Officer Domestic Taxes – Quantity
Surveying will mainly support Domestic Tax operations, with the focus of
management of the Construction Sector.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Officer
    Domestic Taxes – Quantity Surveying job opportunities should hold honors
    Degrees in Quantity Surveying from a recognized University.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body of Quantity Surveyors.
  • At least five (5) years working experience, three (3) of which
    should be in Quantity Surveying field work under a reputable firm of 5
    years working experience, three (3) of which should be in Civil
    Engineering field work under a reputable firm.
  • Post Graduate or Professional qualification in Accounting or
    taxation or, any other training in a business related discipline will be
    an added advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of the requisite Code of Conduct and Ethics for
    Engineers in Uganda, 2014.
  • Knowledge of the Building Control Act 2013, of Uganda.
  • Knowledge of the Domestic Tax Laws of Uganda.
  • Possession of skills in planning and procurement processes of
    construction materials.
  • Skills in material classifications and ratios.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Excellent conceptual and problem solving skills.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Good reporting skills.
