About URA:
The Uganda Revenue
Authority (URA) was established by the Uganda Revenue Authority Statute of 1991
and set up in September of the same year as a central body for assessment and
collection of specified revenue, to administer and enforce the laws relating to
such revenue and to provide for related matters. This statute incorporated all
the laws that were in force then regarding tax collection. The new organization
(URA) amalgamated the three tax administration departments that were
responsible for all the taxes collected by the Central Government of Uganda.
Job Summary:    The Officer Customs – Electronic Cargo
Tracking System will maintain the electronic cargo tracking devices and provide
technical support to the Central Tracking and Mobile Enforcement Teams so as to
enable effective functioning of the Electronic Cargo Tracking System

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Officer
    Customs – Electronic Cargo Tracking System job opportunities should hold
    honors Degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical
    Engineering or any other related field obtained from a recognized
    University.
  • Specialised training in Electronics Technology.
  • At least two (2) years’ working experience, one (1) of which should
    have been attained in maintenance of electronic tracking devices or
    closely related activities.
  • Knowledge and application of electronics problem diagnosis software.
  • Knowledge of laws related to Customs and Electronic Tracking.
  • Should be able to use Soldering iron and the Electronic Multi-Meter.
  • The incumbent should possess good communication and interpersonal
    skills.
  • Incumbent should be able to work as part of a team.
  • He/she should possess an impeccable record of integrity.
  • S/he should be analytical with an Investigative mind.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
