Job Summary: The
Technical Sales/ Support Executive should be an enthusiastic sales professional
in a predominantly office-based role. This person will sell our products to
existing and potential customers, working as part of a team managing a
geographic territory. We are looking for someone who can provide a high-quality
customer experience. The role entails both commercial and technical aspects of
the sales process. This person must have a passion for selling and should also
be able to organize and plan the sales activity. Additionally, the candidate
must possess technical skills in order to provide first line support for our
clients in Uganda and escalate to the respective head of department. There will
be extensive contact with customers, primarily by telephone and e-mail but will
involve some customer meetings both in our facility and on-site visits. You
will work as an equal team member within the sales department to manage sales
for Uganda, maximizing our sales opportunities therein. You will be qualifying
and responding to our sales leads, organizing quotations, sales information,
demonstrations, samples and evaluations, and recording sales processes. You
will from time to time be required to provide basic support to our clients and
employees. Support includes training, hardware maintenance and fixing basic
system bugs. The exact nature of your involvement in support will be determined
on a need basis by the respective HOD.
Job Objectives:
  • Maintain and develop regional sales as part of a team
  • Meet agreed sales growth and gross profit targets
  • Win purchase orders in line with sales strategy from both existing
    and new customers

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain and grow our business from our existing major accounts
  • Management of new sales leads, including qualification, response,
    recording and follow up with the objective of securing purchase orders.
    Working with teammate to coordinate outcomes
  • Assist in making appointments and meeting the sales team targets
  • Send quotations, pursuing these to purchase orders
  • Liaise with technical colleagues to respond to customer queries,
    RFQs and tenders
  • Use and maintain our CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Meet with customers and prospects who visit our offices, and
    occasional site visits
  • Prospect for new customers within key target growth areas
  • Participate in monthly sales meetings. 
  • Take part in company, partners and customer events
  • Negotiate pricing within predetermined parameters as agreed with the
    Head of Sales
  • Report on competitive activity and recommend actions where deemed

  • Invoiced sales v. budget

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant should have a proven track record in a successful
    business-to-business sales environment, preferably for technology
    solutions especially VMWare and Veeam.
  • Technical – must have a strong background in IT, preferably to
    diploma Level as a minimum. Should be conversant with virtualisation,
    back-up and recovery technologies such as VMWare & Veeam.
    Comprehensive and ongoing product training will be given
  • Professional demeanour and attitude, outgoing and friendly
  • Organized, focused and sales driven
  • Excellent telephone skills – be comfortable using the telephone as a
    proactive sales tool
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills – to maintain sound
    relationships with customers, partners and colleagues
  • Earn and maintain mutual respect with fellow employees. Take the
    initiative in keeping others informed on matters of mutual interest
  • Whilst a technical background is required, the most important
    quality is an ability and willingness to learn and understand our unique
  • You should have the confidence to use your own initiative, and to
    seek out opportunities to improve products, processes and services
