will manage the social cohesion component of the project: participatory
selection of beneficiaries, prioritization of CfW activities, life skills
awareness raising during Phase 1 (design of life skills sensitizations,
training of sub-area managers and field officers) and social cohesion aspects
before and during Phase 2 (creation, coaching of beneficiaries’ groups,
follow-up of group enterprises
- The applicant for the Save the Children Social Cohesion/Youth
Engagement Officer job placement should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
development, social work, economics, business or other related field; - Three years of relevant professional experience in engagement,
participatory approaches, livelihoods, social enterprise, etc. - Knowledge of West Nile, Uganda, and displacement (refugee) context
preferred; and - Knowledge of a local language
- Understanding of social relations and commitment to integrate
gender, diversity and other power related issues into programme activities - Show commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims,
values and principles. - An understanding of the role of INGOs and current development
debates, particularly participatory approaches, organizational development
and capacity building with/for both state and non-state partners.
