Senior Program Officer Technical Advisory Program (TAP)
Austrian NGO working in the area of development cooperation. With the mandate
of our member organisations of the catholic development sector we specialise in
the monitoring and implementation of projects as well as in the provision of
experts in developing countries.
closely with the TAP team to plan and
implement the SDG internship program in Uganda and Kenya.
- Identification of potential field placements for students with
partner organizations in the wider HORIZONT3000 network - Assessment of partner organizations
- Development of assignment descriptions for internships of 3-6 months
- Preparation and orientation of partner organizations
- Prepare Work/Residence Permit application process
Implementation Phase:
- Organization of country specific orientation trainings for the
students (twice a year) - Render support in the process of conducting monitoring visits to the
partner organizations during the internships - Evaluation of assignments together with the partner organizations,
the students and HORIONT300 - Perform any other duties in the Technical Advisory Program as
assigned by the supervisor
- The SDG Scholarship Project Officer must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
Political Sciences, Development Studies or International Relations - At least three years’ experience in project planning, implementation
and monitoring with an (I)NGO. - Ability to work against tight deadlines and under pressure,
excellent attention to detail - Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload under minimal
supervision - Ability to work on own initiative and to work well as part of a team
- Experience in project proposal writing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good problem
solving skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (especially Word, PowerPoint
and Excel) - Competences in at least one field of rural development/natural
resources, WASH and human rights/civil society is desirable - Experience in working in a church-based environment is desirable
- Excellent skills in speaking and writing in English, knowledge of
Luganda and/or Kiswahili is an added advantage
