Senior Program Officer Finance Program
Austrian NGO working in the area of development cooperation. With the mandate
of our member organisations of the catholic development sector we specialise in
the monitoring and implementation of projects as well as in the provision of
experts in developing countries.
Project will coordinate and monitor the Policy Dialogue Pilot project of
HORIZONT3000 and support in elaborating a follow-up project within the
framework programme of HORIZONT3000.
- Carry out capacity assessment of organisations for engaging in
policy dialogue. - Coordinating and organising capacity building trainings in the area
of civic participation and policy dialogue. This includes identification
of trainers, as well as arranging all logistics for this event. - Provide follow-up guidance and support to CSOs to elaborate capacity
development measures as well as coaching for organisations implementing
policy dialogue projects and other capacity building measures in this
field. - Provide or organise individual training/coaching individual training
to partners on policy dialogue. - Document and report on training workshops held.
- Compile and draft the semi-annual and annual narrative reports for
the project (narrative and financially). - Provide the Senior Programme Officer of the Regional Office with
research based information on the relevant political, social, economic and
environment situation in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. - Assist in identification of potential project partners for the next
phase (2019-21). - Responsible for developing and drafting a project proposal for
policy dialogue in the framework of 2019-2021 according to the standards
of the back-donor, the Austrian Development Agency, in collaboration with
the Senior Program Officer.
- The Project Coordinator – Policy Dialogue Project must hold a
University Degree in political, social science, law or a related subject. - A minimum of four years’ experience working in the civic sector
- Knowledge and experience in policy dialogue and civic participation
- Proven experience as a trainer
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with
partners and external stakeholders - Ability to quickly grasp complex policy issues and communicate them
effectively and confidently to both expert and non-expert audience - Exceptional organisational, communication and good problem solving
skills - Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure, excellent
attention to detail - Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload
- Ability to work on own initiative and to work well as part of a
team. - Ability to work in project teams drawn from a wider range of
disciplines, as a team member and team leader - Willingness to work outside normal hours when required
- Able to travel long distances
- Good interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication
skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
