About US:
Agri Evolve Uganda
Ltd is an agri-business in Uganda established in 2015, seeking to improve the
yields and quality of food production in Uganda using a business approach
towards sustainable development of agriculture. We primarily work in the coffee
industry, in partnership with Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. We are involved in the
buying and processing of coffee in the Rwenzori region, where our primary aim
has been to add value to coffee through improved processing. In addition to
this we have a large farmer support team offering services to thousands of
smallholder farmers.
Job Summary:  The Head of Finance and Human Resources will
oversee and manage all financial and human resource aspects of the business.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will head up our
finance team and work closely with all senior management, and will be situated
in Kisinga Town, Kasese District, Western Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Supervise and manage all staff within the finance and HR department
  • Manage all financial accounting activities using our company
    software
  • Produce and monitor all financial reports, both internal and
    external
  • Management of payment and receipt process including authorisations
  • Budget control and management
  • Prepare and administer payroll systems
  • Manage all matters in relation to tax, and NSSF in accordance with
    the financial laws of Uganda
  • Liaise with external organisations, producing reports and providing
    accountability as required
  • Ensure compliance with audits, both internal and external
  • Manage all human resource issues alongside the general manager,
    including contracts, job descriptions, appraisals, and ensuring the
    company complies with the labour laws of Uganda

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a BSc in finance, management or
    related subject
  • Significant work experience at a similar level
  • Proven management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the URA tax system
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Good computer skills, including Excel and SAGE or other accounting
    software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working
    relationships; with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to ride a motorbike or drive a car; possession of a valid
    driver license is an added advantage
  • Willingness to live and work up-country in Kasese District
